Activities

Research

After 10 years of research activity at Rennes University as a soil ecologist, I obtained a permanent position as an assistant professor at Agrocampus Ouest in 2014.

My research activities deal with

  • the response of soil organisms (especially the earthworm community) to environmental factors (natural or anthropic: mainly agricultural),
  • identification of drivers of spatial distribution of earthworm at multiple scales,
  • interactions between above- and below-ground diversity,
  • effects of earthworms on soil properties (physical, chemical) and ecosystem services (soil structure maintenance, water regulation, nutrient cycling),
  • the social and economic assessment of ecosystem services associated with soil organisms
Current project

As partner, I am involved in:

  • 2 european projects - EJP-MINOTAUR 2021-2024 ; EJP-SERENA 2021-2024
  • 8 european projects - (e.g. FP7-Ecofinders 2011-2015 ; ERASMUS+-SEGAE 2017-2020)

At national scale, I am involved in:

  • 3 national projects (Project Inter Unité INRAe - GloWorm 2021-2024; ADEME-CINAPE 2019-2022 ; LandWorm 2022-2025)
  • more than 10 projects (e.g. ANR-SoilServ 2017-2020 ; MétaProgramme EcoSERv INRA-Bise 2017-2019, ImagSol 2018-2021).

As coordinator, I had leaded

  • 2 european projects SNOWMAN-SUSTAIN (2011-2015) and Biodiversa-SoilMan (2017-2020)
  • two transdisplinary programmes dealing with soil biodiversity, soil functions, and ecosystem services, and at national scale,
  • 1 national project (ADEME- Bioindicators 2009-2015) involving 70 french partners and dealing with soil bioindicators

Teaching Experience

Since 2017 I am the co-leader of the international Master 2 “Agroecology”, at Institut Agro Rennes-Angers; an international master addressing the issues and challenges of agroecology which welcomes foreign (e.g. Chili, Argentina, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, China) and french students. A real opportunity to exchange visions, experiences and knowledge on current major issues: how to develop an agriculture that is socially, environmentally and economically sustainable
