Impact of organic-matter dynamics on availability of trace metals in soil

DYMOMET

Research

Contexte et objectifs

Organic amendments bring organic matter (OM) and trace metals (TM) into the soil and alter physico-chemical properties which are involved in TM mobility, such as organic-carbon content, pH and cation-exchange capacity (Michaud et al., 2020, 2021; Peltre et al., 2017). Changes in OM from organic amendments could modify the distribution of TM between soil-solid and soil-solution phases.

The overall aim of the EC2CO DIMOMET project (2021-2022) is to understand dynamics of OM degradation in soils amended with organic waste and how they could influence the availability of TM.
