Research

Modeling the quantity-quality interactions of water in the context of global change.

My research focuses on hydrology, specifically hydrogeology, the study of groundwater. Using hydro(geo)logical numerical models, I simulate the water cycle at the scale of headwaters in watersheds. These tools allow to represent the dominant processes driving water quantity and quality dynamics, such as groundwater flow and the associated nutrient transfers (carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus). In parallel, field data allow me to both improve our understanding of the hydrological functioning of the studied system and better constrain the models. Using climatic, agricultural, and land-use scenarios, the developed models are used to explore potential future trajectories, integrating both direct and indirect effects of climate change on water resources.
